Web Development Classes @ WashArts
I will be teaching a web development class for WashArts during the Winter Session. I've been in talks to teach this class for a couple months now, but now everything is official - and I'm excited. What is WashArts you might ask?
Well officially - "Wash Arts is an award-winning fine arts center incorporating the PA Standards for the Arts into all classes. Wash Arts' students win writing awards, apply for Governor's School, and perform regularly in the community and at our own art cafe."
But in short, they are a pretty awesome non-profit that offers all kinds of classes such as drawing, painting, illustration, pottery, many forms of dance, acting, guitar, piano, clarinet, music theory, songwriting, qi gong, photography, video production, poetry and now web development (whoa, that's a lot of typing) to Washington, PA and its surrounding community. They even offer special pricing to enable all members of the community to participate.
I took the Adult Pottery class last session (a session lasts 10 weeks) with Judy Hopson, and it was a really great learning experience. I'm even taking it during the Winter Session as well, because I was just starting to get the hang of it as the Fall session came to a close.
So, any older teens and adults who have a couple free hours on Wednesday nights (6:30-8:30), $125, and are looking to learn web design and development from the best (well, I'm pretty darn good), I encourage you to sign up and hang out with me at the Inspiration Cafe on Main Street (this is where the class will be)... you'll even get to use shiny new iMacs.
We are going to cover ever aspect of web development from planning to design to HTML. I plan on working with each student individually so they can all get the most out of the class. The goal of the class is to have each student complete a basic website by the end of the 10-week session. I'll even cover advanced topics for intermediate students. Classes begin on January 19th.
You can sign up by calling Wash Arts at 724-222-1475.
