Best Albums of '08

Here we go. The best. In no particular order. I listened to tons of albums (though not as many as I would like) and these are the ones that I'll listen to for years to come. Each one of these albums has 7+ great songs on them and nearly nothing that is anything worse than really good.

Don't believe me? Here's a little sampler. Told you I was right.

Wolf Parade - At Mount Zoomer

A great alternative rock album. Great lyrics, rifts, and hooks.

Jenny Lewis - Acid Tongue

Gotta love that voice and she takes it to places she never has before.

Conor Oberst - Conor Oberst

I love Bright Eyes and Conor Oberst can do no wrong. Great catchy, folk/rock album.

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Dig!!! Lazarus Dig!!!

A great followup to last year's "Grinderman" album. Nick Cave keeps getting better and better.

Fleet Foxes - Fleet Foxes

A truly beautiful album.

Death Cab For Cutie - Narrow Stairs

Every song is catchy. Great lyrics.

Santogold - Santogold

Great dance/hip-hop/pop. A more accessible M.I.A.

She & Him - Volume One

I love this sound - kinda like an old country album. Plus, you have to love Zooey Deschanel.

Sons and Daughters - This Gift

From the first note, this album never slows down.

The Black Keys - Attack & Release

Blues, rock and psychedelica perfectly blended.

The Hold Steady - Stay Positive

Sure, every single one of there songs sounds basically the same, but it is a damn good sound and the lyrics keep getting better.

MGMT - Oracular Spectacular

Loved this album since the first time I heard it. Sort of dance/pop/rock/psychedelica maybe? Kinda like a more accessible Of Montreal if they Of Montreal wrote songs about normal things.
